Dammit, dude. I had to learn about it during an office meeting. A fucking office meeting! I guess that serves me right for hiding from social media these days. And it's just like you to chastise me for doing so.
It was sudden, to say the least. You just liked my Little Myanmar IG post a few weeks ago, and we were chuckling about that pretentious whisky glass post a month back. And now you're gone.
Thanks for having been a great colleague and an even better friend. I will always cherish our drunken sessions whether at the office (those were good times), during missions (at least we still managed to do our jobs), or at your place during the pandemic (omg the theories and conspiracies). You kept me grounded when I was at the height of my cynicism. It was good to know you had my back when you were around.
You're one of the best writers I have the pleasure of personally knowing and being friends with (there are two awesome writers from high school days, thankfully both are still alive). Thank you for reminding me of my love for writing. Even for just a brief moment my work writing was less of a chore and more of a creative and idealistic outlet. It has been a pleasure and a privilege rocking the platform and the establishment with you. Thank you for listening to my rants, and for supporting my more outlandish ideas on the job. I can't do any of those now.
Till we see each other again, my good friend. Every sip of whisky will be a prayer to/for you.
